EL PASO, TEXAS- On February 6, 2012 at approximately 12 midnight Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 1500 block of Cactus Wren, Horizon, El Paso County, Texas in reference to a welfare check. Deputies had received information that there may have been someone shot at that residence. Upon arrival Deputies discovered the body of Ms. Hilda Gonzalez, a 43 year old female, who was the owner of the residence. The Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Persons Detectives were requested and began their investigation. A short time later the victims son Leo Martinez was taken into custody and charged with Murder. Martinez was booked into the El Paso County Detention facility under a $600,000.00 bond.
The Investigation is currently still ongoing.
