UPPER VALLEY-MVA/PASSENGER CAR COLLIDES INTO 18-WHEELER

EL PASO, TX- On 11-06-11 at approximately 11:45 AM, El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an Motor Vehicle Accident involving injuries at the 7300 block of Doniphan Dr. in El Paso County, TX.
Deputies arrived to find a grey 2010 Ford Focus bearing TX plates driven by Faith Saenz (17) from Anthony, NM who collided into the rear of a white 18-wheeler (Oakley Trucking) driven by Jose Morales (34). During the course of the investigation, it was determined the 18 wheeler (tarp covered cargo-trailer) was traveling north on the right lane when it signaled to turn right into a business. The Ford Focus was also traveling north on the same lane when the Ford approached the 18 wheeler, veered right and struck the right rear portion of the cargo-trailer with the left front part of the Ford. The Ford Focus sustained major front end damage.
According to a witness, the driver of the Ford Focus was looking down prior to colliding with the 18 wheeler. SAENZ was transported by Life Ambulance to a local area hospital and was cited for Following too Close and No Operator’s License.
