EL PASO TX- On Thursday, 10-20-2011 at approximately 9:00 PM, El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies patrolling the Upper valley were dispatched to Interstate Highway-10 West, on ramp from Westway Blvd., in reference to a single motor vehicle accident/roll over involving a red 1997 Isuzu Rodeo.
Upon arrival Deputies saw a the vehicle was rolled on its left side with a male subject (driver) pinned between the vehicle and pavement. Life Ambulance, West Valley Fire Department and Medivac (air-lift) were immediately summoned to the scene.
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators (STI’s) and Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Technicians were also requested on scene.
The male subject was identified as 34 year old Fabian A. Solis from the 1300 block of Westway Blvd., El Paso, TX, who was air lifted to a local area hospital with serious injuries to his left arm.
Further investigation revealed subject/Solis had left his residence, after being involved in a non-criminal family disturbance with his ex-girlfriend. Minutes later, Subject/Solis then attempted to get onto Interstate Highway- 10 West, struck a curve and lost control of the vehicle causing it to flip over on the driver’s side. Subject/Solis’ arm was partially ejected and was pinned between the vehicle and the pavement. Solis was wearing a seatbelt and apparently had been drinking prior to leaving the residence.
The investigation continues with toxicology results pending.
