DWI ENFORCEMENT 

EL PASO, TX- The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Section in coordination with Patrol Deputies conducted a DWI Enforcement Wave throughout El Paso County, TX during the period of June 27-29, 2011 and July 1-6, 2011. During that time period, extra officers were  utilized to focus on DWI patrols within high risk locations during times when alcohol-related crashes are most frequent. Our goal is to reduce the number of fatal or serious injury collisions. Working during hours determined to be peak impaired driving hours, Deputies worked a total of 149 hours during the 4th of July and responded to 82 calls for service in various locations within El Paso County, TX. No major traffic accidents were reported during this time in the unincorporated areas of the county.

RESULTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  • ADULT DWI ARRESTS: 7
  • MISDEMEANOR ARRESTS: 9
  • MISDEMEANOR WARRANTS: 2
  • NON-HAZARDOUS CITATIONS ISSUED: 42
  • HAZARDOUS CITATIONS ISSUED: 33
  • CALLS FOR SERVICE: 82
