EL PASO, TEXAS- Earlier today, May 9, 2011 at 7:30 am, El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles began his work week as a “Nurse for a Day” at Sierra Medical Center commemorating National Nurses Week which starts today May 9th & continues thru Friday May 13, 2011.
National Nurses Week is one of the nation's largest health care events, recognizing the contributions & commitments nurses make. National Nurses Week is celebrated annually to coincide with the birthday of Florence nightingale, founder of Modern Nursing. Sierra Medical center kicked off National Nurses week today & will continue all week with recognition activities & celebrations throughout the week.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in March of 2001 was the first Sheriff’s Office in the State of Texas to be Internationally Accredited from CALEA and is now the recipient of the First CALEA Tri-Arc award in Texas (4th in the Nation) to have accreditations in: Law Enforcement, Communications, Training Academy
