EL PASO, TEXAS- Late Thursday 09-02-10, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Strike Team learned of the whereabouts of a Wanted Fugitive WILLIE LOZOYA - wanted for several outstanding felony warrants. LOZOYA was featured on MANHUNT MONDAY August 2, 2010 (read more…) & was featured as one of Crime Stoppers of El Paso Most Wanted. During the course of their investigation, Deputies were informed LOZOYA was in possession of a stolen vehicle. Deputies immediately began surveillance at a residence in the 3700 block of Breckenridge in east El Paso.
During the surveillance of the residence in question, Deputies spotted the stolen vehicle parked in the driveway of the home.
LOZOYA was said to always be carrying a firearm & has a history of violent offenses. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team was summoned to the scene to execute a search / arrest warrant. SO SWAT made entry into the home where LOZOYA was found hiding under a bed in one of the bedrooms. He was taken into custody without incident.
While conducting a protective sweep of the home, Sheriff’s Officials smelled a strong odor of marijuana inside the residence. A second male at the residence admitted to Deputies that there was Marijuana in his room. He was identified as LOZOYA’s brother – PATRICK LOZOYA (20). He was arrested for Possession of Marijuana < 2oz.
