EP SHERIFFF patch color small2FABENS, TEXAS-  Wednesday night 09-01-10 at 7:34pm, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested an individual who had eluded capture on two previous occasions. The most recent was last Friday 08-27-10 when Deputies went looking for RAUL MARTIN FUENTES (47) wanted for a FELONY PROBATION VIOLATION on an ASSAULT (FAMILY VIOLENCE) charge. On that occasion, as Deputies approached a residence in the 200 block of NW Austin Fabens, TX FUENTES fled out the back door of residence. FUENTES was able to elude capture that night after running down an alleyway hiding from authorities as they closed in. usborderpatrol

Wednesday night 09-01-10 at 6:30 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies received information FUENTES had returned to the residence on NW Austin St.  Deputies along with the assistance of U.S. Border Patrol Agents set a perimeter around the home. As Authorities approached, FUENTES was spotted outside the residence trying to bury himself in dirt underneath some nearby bushes. FUENTES who is a confirmed Mexican Mafia Gang Member out of California was taken into custody without incident.
