EL PASO, TX- Monday evening 08-30-10 at about 6:30 PM, after seeing himself on television, MANHUNT MONDAY Fugitive VINCENT ESCOBAR walked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and offered to turn himself in to authorities. At that point in time there were no Deputies in the facility to book ESCOBAR on his outstanding warrant for Assault (Family Violence) click here for more….. ESCOBAR was informed of this & was told he could wait until Deputies arrived. ESCOBAR left the facility walking out the front door.
On Tuesday 08-31-10 ESCOBAR was spotted at El Paso Community College located at 10700 Gateway East El Paso, TX. ESCOBAR was detained by EPCC PD & turned over to Sheriff’s Officials a short time later where they took him into custody eventually booking him into the El Paso County Detention Facility. ESCOBAR has bonded out of jail just before 5pm 08-31-10.
Nevertheless 36 hours after being profiled on MANHUNT MONDAY –& 18 hours after he 1st attempted to turn himself in, ESCOBAR who had an active & valid warrant for his arrest was booked into jail.
Sheriff’s Officials are looking into why ESCOBAR was not initially arrested when he 1st attempted to surrender to authorities.
ESCOBAR’S arrest marks the 54th MANHUNT MONDAY arrest out of 95 Fugitives profiled.
