EL PASO COUNTY, TX- Friday night 08-27-10 at about 8:00PM, a Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 600 of Cascada, El Paso County, TX in reference to a civil escort. The Deputy arrived & met with the reporter who advised he was currently separated from his spouse & to avoid any altercations, he requested a Deputy escort him into the home so he can retrieve some personal belongings. As the Reporter was retrieving his necessary items (clothing / hygiene), the spouse approached the Reporter and began yelling at him becoming aggressive. The Sheriff’s Deputy tried calming the spouse as she kept grabbing her husbands arm trying to prevent him from leaving. The spouse then took their 1 year-old infant child, and threw the child in the direction of the husband was able to catch the child. At that point the Sheriff’s Deputy advised the woman she was under arrest for Endangering a Child. As the Deputy attempted to place the handcuffs on the woman she began punching the Deputy eventually biting his left hand. The Deputy was able to gain control & arrest the woman who was identified as ERIKA ESPARZA ROBLES (19). She was arrested & charged with Endangering a Child & Assault on a Public Servant. The Deputy or infant did not sustain serious injuries. Child Protective Services was notified.
