SAN ELIZARIO, TX- Back in June 2009, Deputies responded to an Aggravated Assault in the area of the 13000 block of Guitar in San Elizario, Texas. Deputies met with a male subject / Victim who told authorities that he was standing outside of his house when 3 male subjects arrived to his residence & began throwing rocks at him. The Victim’s 8 year-old son was also outside playing & he too was hit with one of the rocks thrown by the subjects.
The 8 year-old sustained a severe cut to his foot as a result of being hit by the rock. The subjects proceeded to damage the Victim’s two vehicles using metal pipes and rocks causing $5,000 damage to each vehicle. After several months trying to identify the assailants the 1st of the 3 was arrested in October 2009. He was identified as MOISES SORIA (23) of the 1400 block of Las Pompas San Elizario, TX. The 2 other subjects were later identified as ALFREDO & FRANCISCO MARTINEZ of the 1300 block Elara San Elizario, TX. Both managed to elude capture & had been on the run ever since. It was said that both MARTINEZ brothers had fled the area.
Early this morning 08-19-10 at 5:00 am, after several months on the run, Deputies received information that the MARTINEZ brothers had returned to San Elizario, TX. Deputies went to the residence in the 1300 block of Elara where both MARTINEZ bros. were taken into custody without incident. Both were booked and remain at the El Paso County Detention Facility.
