CANUTILLO, TX: Saturday afternoon 07-10-10 at 4:52 PM, Deputies were dispatched to the 6900 block of Third St., Canutillo, TX in reference to a stabbing. Deputies arrived on the scene and found the victim, JAIME ORRANTIA (42) with a severe 12”cut to the left forearm, a knife cut behind his right ear, and a slight cut to his left outer arm. Deputies also made contact with the offender (Victim’s brother) identified as JAVIER ORRANTIA (44) who was still on scene. Investigation revealed JAVIER had assaulted JAIME with a 7” stainless steel butcher knife, which was recovered at the scene. The Victim (JAIME) transported Code 3 / Trauma level 1 (severe) to University medical Center. JAVIER was arrested without further incident & charged with AGGRAVATED ASSAULT W/ DEADLY WEAPON.
Deputies had just worked up a warrant on JAVIER earlier in the day for TERRORISTIC THREATS against his brother JAIME. JAVIER was booked into EPCDF on both charges.
