RESULT:  Arrest Made / Investigation Continues

SWAT LOGO BLKWESTWAY, TX-  Early Sunday morning 06-06-10 2:15 am, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of Tiffany in reference to a possible fight, gun involved. A Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene & observed subjects run into a residence located at 805 Tiffany – several individuals outside advised Deputies one of the subjects ran into the home carrying a weapon (shotgun). As responding Deputies arrived on scene, a subject inside the home was seen closing the front door of the residence. Deputies attempted to make contact with the subjects at home but they refused to answer the door. Information received indicated that about 2:00 am, a verbal argument occurred outside of the residence among several individuals. During the argument, a subject pointed the shotgun at a group of people.

Strike team Deputies who were working nearby, along with Patrol Deputies closed off several streets & established a perimeter around the residence. EPCSO SWAT & Crisis Negotiators were summoned to the scene.

At about 5:00am, after several hours of attempted negotiations & no contact being made. EPCSO SWAT entered the residence where they located & took custody a male subject who was found intoxicated on the living room floor. The subject was later identified as the same individual who threatened people with the shotgun. While conducting a protective sweep of the home, a 12 Gauge sawed-off shotgun was found in one of the bedrooms. Further investigation revealed the shotgun was reported stolen in 2007 from an individual in Dona Ana County, New Mexico.

The subject was identified as DENI AARON TORRES (20) of the 700 block of Southwood. TORRES is a friend of individuals who reside at the Tiffany address.

He was arrested and is pending booking on the following charges: AGGRAVATED ASSAULT W/ DEADLY WEAPON / PROHIBITED WEAPON / THEFT (STOLEN SHOT GUN).
