RESULT:  Investigation Continues

Arrested EL PASO, TX-  On Wednesday night 05-26-10 at 8:22 pm, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Gallegos Memorial Park, 7351 Bosque Rd. Canutillo, TX in reference a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. Deputies arrived & met with a 16 year-old female who was conscious but advised she had been run over. An investigation revealed that 3 female teenagers were riding on the hood of a friend’s car (1999 Chrysler Concord) when the 16 year-old fell off & was run over by the car (mid-section / upper legs area). For reasons not entirely clear, the driver of the car fled the scene prior to the Deputies arrival but returned to the scene about 45 minutes later & surrendered to authorities. The 16 year-old victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries & was transported to University Medical Center. The identity of the 16 year-old who remains in the hospital will not be released at this time.

Deputies identified the driver as 17 year-old ANGEL CORRAL of Berino, NM. Deputies initially placed him under arrest & charged CORRAL with the offense of ACCIDENT INVOLVING INJURY / DEATH but when they took him before the on duty Judge of MC2B for his magistrates warnings, presiding judge specified he could not sign the affidavit due to not having enough probable cause.

INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
